Put the scissors away! Cancel the hairdresser’s appointment! Damaged hair ends aren’t the end of the world. You don’t need to cut your hair down to make it healthy again. Read about my fixes for split ends. Will you try them out?
I used to have the same problem. You’re reading the article so I assume you also struggle with split hair ends. I was fighting split hair tips a few months ago. Now, I’m more than happy to share my experiences in damaged hair care.
What’s our goal?
Healthy and strong hair, from roots to ends, no splitting. Without visiting a hair salon or cutting hair down. At home, at low costs. Believe me, it’s possible.
How to achieve the goal?
The most important thing: don’t expect a miracle when it comes to hair care. You can’t bond split hair ends back together. Even if you use the best products for damaged hair, you won’t get instant effects. If you really want to make your hair stronger, you need regularity. Apart from products we use, it also matters how and how often we take care of hair. We aim at protecting ends from splitting plus strengthening our hair.
MY SPLIT ENDS REMEDIES
- I never brush wet hair
Damp hair is much more prone to damage so you must remember about it if you want to avoid further damage. You won’t repair split tips this way but there’s bigger chance hair ends won’t keep splitting. If you must brush wet or damp hair, use a wide-tooth comb or Tangle Teezer – they don’t pull your hair; you’ll easily comb out your strands. - I cut down on blow-drying
Whenever I’m not pressed for time, I let my hair dry naturally. If I must use a blow-dryer, I try to use a cool airflow. The less exposure to heat, the healthier the hair. - I use flexible hair ties
Do you know the most common cause of split hair ends? Pulling them out when you take off hair ties (with metal elements), sharp pins and clips. I try to avoid such gadgets and use my favorite Invisibobble hair ring – designed to treat our hair in a gentle way. - I take vitamin supplements
The big part! You need proper supplements to restore health in your hair. We deliver some nutrients with shampoos and conditioners but food ingredients are also crucial. Splitting hair needs vitamin B, folic acid and biotin so I suggest enriching diet with soya, oranges and kale.
