Do you have any favorite beauty products?
I do. Actually, the list of my favorites mostly includes DIY products. Preparing them has been sheer pleasure since I discovered the number of possibilities and beautifying recipes.
In this post I share the recipes I use most often. See 3 DIY beauty products I love.
Before you start playing the alchemist and create your own formulas, let me share some thoughts on homemade cosmetics. Why is it good to make beauty products at home? What made me take it up? Do they have the same effects as drugstore products? Read on.
Homemade beauty solutions. Do it yourself!
Have you finished your favorite hair mask or face cream? You don’t need to spend money on new cosmetics or waste time shopping. Do the products yourself. This is really easy!
The best thing about homemade cosmetics is they are all-natural. You know what they are made from because you choose and mix the ingredients. The formula of your face mask is up to you. There’s a great deal of freedom while making DIY beauty products. Plus, it feels so great when your cosmetic looks like a readymade one as well as works wonders!
Naturally, there are more benefits of DIY beauty products! By making your own cosmetics, you:
- save money because semi-products are easier on the pocket.
- customize your beauty products.
- take care of yourself in a natural and minimalist way.
- are eco-friendly because you produce less waste.
- never run out of cosmetics because you can make them at home.
My favorite DIY beauty products – 3 recipes
Let’s move on to my favorites. Hopefully, my DIY recipes will appeal to you and give you some superbs cosmetics that will stay in your beauty routine for longer.
❤ DIY ANTI-CELLULITE COFFEE SCRUB
- cup of coffee grounds
- half cup of water
- 3 spoons of olive oil or coconut oil
- teaspoon of cinnamon
I love this homemade scrub for two things: effects and amazing coffee aroma. It’s extremely easy to make: you simply mix the ingredients until creating pulp. You rub it into the skin while showering and massage the body for a few minutes. Lastly, you rinse it out and enjoy smooth, soft, elastin skin. Over time, the ingredients in coffee and warming cinnamon give you both nourished skin and a plumper body. Cellulite will be gone, stretch marks will be less noticeable, the skin will regain lost elasticity.
❤ DIY HONEY SHAMPOO BAR
- 3 spoons of hard soap
- 2 spoons of shea or coconut butter
- 1 spoon of almond oil
- 1 spoon of honey
I’m crazy about shampoo bars because they’re eco-friendly and last me long. Since I discovered I could make a shampoo bar myself I’ve been using only this for washing my hair. How to do it exactly? Melt the soap (try Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, a mild, plant-based detergent) and shea butter in a water bath. I like to add some almond oil or other oil which is lightweight, plus honey. You can enrich the mixture with a few drops of essential oil or powdered activated charcoal for scalp detox. Once the blend gets solid, it’s ready to use.
❤ DIY MIRACULOUS LIP BALM
- 1 teaspoon of beeswax
- 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon of shea butter
- 0,5 teaspoon of lanolin
Homemade lip balm is very easy to make. You can actually use only shea butter and some petroleum jelly. I love the richer version though! To make a superb lip balm, you just need to mix the above-mentioned ingredients (ideally, slightly heat them up first). This mixture really works wonders and I always have it on me. It’s easy to use, making my lips softer, smoother and plumper.
